As featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs (Series 10, Episode 2), this unusual family home was constructed beneath a dilapidated barn in remote farmland. Where others had tried and failed to secure planning permission, this project succeeded on the basis that the walls of the existing barn had to be retained at all times, even though the house was to be built underneath. OMK designed the necessary structure to safely hold up the barn in mid-air whilst the house was constructed below. It was also the first certified Passivhaus in England.
