Winner of the ‘Best Individual New Home’ in the LABC Central Building Excellence Awards, this unique, new-build house is mostly buried beneath the ground. It features floor to ceiling glazing and some unusual curved geometry. Insulated concrete formwork (ICF) was used extensively for the retaining walls and ground conditions were complicated due to the presence of nearby springs and water courses. Developer Ashbrook Homes has created a minimalist, highly sustainable dream house.
